I am Josh. I’m from Sandy Hook, in the county of Elliott, on the eastern side of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I live in Lexington, KY with the love of my life Ashleigh and our awesome dog Sassafras. We are taking our first steps toward expanding our family by adopting, which is exciting, daunting, and nerve-wracking all at once! I teach Biology courses at the oldest college west of the Alleghenies, and I podcast about the pulps with two of my best friends, Luke and Jon. I have a brother, Kevin, who also works in higher education in Physics at our alma mater, and a great sister in law. Kev and Stacy have two amazing daughters, and Ashleigh and I feel lucky to be part of their lives. My mom, Gwenda, is my hero, and she is retired from the University of Kentucky Cooperative Extension Service and lives back home in Sandy Hook with her husband Gene. She raised my brother and I. My father died last September, and our relationship was always pretty weird. More on that another time! My father in law, Bill, lives in Ashland with his wife, Jane, and their dog Pip.
My interests are wide and far ranging, from film to books, music, podcasts, video games, table top and role playing games, natural history, Kentucky history, environmental issues, biology in general, and more! I hope to write about all of these things in the coming weeks and months.
Let the randomness begin!
